A day after the 14th anniversary of the unsolved murder of the Notorious One, I stepped into the lobby that was once the scene of 2Pac’s robbery and shooting in Times Square. That event became the catalyst for the mid 90′s bi-coastal rap beef that subsequently ended the lives of 2Pac and Biggie Smalls. I have nuff love for Mr. Shakur but Biggie’s death saddened me more. We lost the one and only Hip Hop King of New York. And it seemed as if he had almost achieved what most Bed-Stuy brothers strive for: peace and happiness. During my daily cruising through the blogosphere, I stumbled upon a 1997 interview Chairman Mao (of Ego Trip fame) conducted with Mr. Wallace that was published not long before his death. I decided to share it with y’all because Biggie Smalls is the illest and he gets to speak frankly about life and music. We all know Biggie but we rarely get Christopher Wallace. So enjoy it!
